Senior Public Health Engineer / Public Health Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Public Health Engineer / Public Health Engineer to join our Buildings team. As a key member of our national team, you will be responsible for designing Water Services, Above and Below Ground Drainage, and Fire Suppression systems for a wide range of projects, from Antarctic Research Outposts to skyscrapers and world-leading hospitals.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and coordinating all aspects of project delivery, with a focus on Public Health and Fire Suppression systems.
  • Contributing to the overall design and delivery of projects, as a Lead Public Health Engineer.
  • Identifying opportunities for digital automation and optimization of building systems, interfaces, and component parts.
  • Monitoring the implementation of design throughout the project lifecycle, from initial concepts to site visits.
  • Liaising with other UK Building Services teams and Overseas Resourcing Centres to deliver projects from various sectors.
  • Helping to manage technical risk, scope of services, and fee proposals.
  • Providing pastoral care for junior Public Health Engineers in your local office.
  • Being a core influencer of our team's Public Health design skills, reducing risk, and improving efficiency in low and net zero carbon design solutions.
  • Pursuing continuous professional development, including chartership with a recognized institution, and promoting the field of Public Health.

To succeed in this role, you must have a solid grounding in engineering principles, an inquisitive nature, and enthusiasm for the built environment. You should also have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in engineering or a relevant subject, or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in leading and coordinating project delivery, with a focus on Public Health and Fire Suppression systems.
  • Strong technical knowledge in Public Health and Fire Suppression, including Water Services, Above Ground Drainage, and Below Ground Drainage.
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Excel, and Revit.
  • Excellent communication and technical skills, with the ability to make complex concepts simple.
