As the Senior Technical Interface Coordinator, you will be responsible for the development and execution of a comprehensive interface management strategy within HS2 and its supply chain. This role serves as a pivotal point for HS2's strategic direction in technical interface management, collaborating with various teams across HS2's delivery organizations to ensure seamless integration across disciplines and contracts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct the strategic framework for interface management across HS2, collaborating with all organizational sectors to ensure the availability of necessary resources, tools, and processes;
  • Take ownership of the HS2-wide framework and processes outlined in the Interface Management Plan, ensuring they are regularly updated and implemented;
  • Oversee the procurement, deployment, and maintenance of a comprehensive software application for interface management across HS2;
  • Ensure that interface engineers and managers possess the requisite skills and knowledge to achieve interface management goals, establishing competence levels for effective interface management;
  • Identify and prioritize interface resolution issues for escalation to the appropriate decision-making bodies;
  • Provide training and support to the broader HS2 organization on effective interface management practices;
  • Develop and implement best practices and innovative engineering techniques, driving consistency and identifying efficiency opportunities across delivery teams;
  • Conduct audits to assess the application of interface management processes within HS2 and its supply chain;
  • Actively promote and integrate Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) principles in all aspects of your work, adhering to organizational policies and initiatives regarding EDI.
Candidate Profile:

Essential Skills:
  • Proficient in providing specialized technical guidance and leadership on discipline-specific scientific, technical, and engineering principles to project development and delivery teams, while recognizing when to consult with other Subject Matter Experts;
  • Capable of serving as a Standard Owner under the direction of the Standard Discipline Owner;
  • Meets the continuing professional development (CPD) requirements of a professional institution annually;
  • Ability to convey discipline-specific technical concepts to colleagues, primarily through practical examples;
  • Knowledgeable in applying principles related to standards, safety, and environmental considerations;
  • Employs methods that ensure effective information management, modeling, and data security, understanding the implications of data creation, transformation, and visualization;
  • Ability to define criteria specific to the discipline.
Knowledge Base:
  • Familiarity with applicable UK construction regulations, including CDM requirements;
  • Understanding of the regulatory and legislative framework pertinent to HS2;
  • Commercial awareness, including an understanding of cost delivery, schedule targets, and the necessity for integrated solutions that fulfill all functional requirements;
  • Comprehension of various other disciplines;
  • Chartered Engineer status or membership in a relevant professional institution, or equivalent experience.
Experience Required:
  • Proven experience in managing standards, engineering, and safety activities on engineering projects or programs;
  • Experience in balancing competing project and engineering demands, with implications for cost and schedule on engineering projects or programs.
