Job Title: Principal Engineer-ASIC Design

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer-ASIC Design to join our team at Microchip Technology, Inc. As a key member of our engineering community, you will be responsible for designing, integrating, and verifying the Full Chip Architecture and Full Chip Control/Data busses for advanced ASICs or FPGAs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and integrate complex ASIC or FPGA devices, including Full Chip Architecture and Full Chip Control/Data busses.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of all components on the device.
  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation of the SOC or FPGA device and/or device family.
  • Participate in the Verilog implementation and integration of full chip capabilities, including interface support and documentation.
  • Support full chip post-layout timing closure and verification.
  • Investigate and assess legacy and emerging integration techniques and on-chip/off-chip network-on-chip (NOC) bus structures.
  • Improve data and command processing bandwidth, reduce latencies, and increase reliability.
  • Support porting the design into test chips and emulation platforms.
  • Work closely with FPGA support software and Firmware engineers to resolve hardware issues and customer issues.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 10 years of proven silicon design experience in system-level integration of multiple IP blocks into a full chip environment.
  • Strong technical leadership skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Experience with Verilog design and design verification, static timing analysis, and Verilog simulation tools.
  • Ability to write detailed design specifications and clean, readable presentations.
  • Self-motivated, proactive team player with good analytical, oral, and written communication skills.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
