Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Grants and Projects Finance Officer to join the Finance Team at the University of Oxford.

About the Role:

This is a permanent position that requires a senior member of the Grants & Projects team to support the post-award financial management of the department's research grants and trading contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Primary responsibility for a selected portfolio of research grants, supporting the relevant Principal Investigators and Project Managers to ensure that funds are securely managed.
  • Deal with issues and problems as they arise, liaising with a range of stakeholders and advising budget holders accordingly.
  • Oversee the setting up of new projects, reconciling projects coming to an end, and preparing for grant audits.
  • Run and update all the EngSc monthly finance reports, including PREFECT (department forecasting tool), Core allocation report (staff forecasting tool), EngSci commitment report, and the PSA report.

Requirements:

  • Significant experience of financial administration in a large and complex working environment.
  • Excellent inter-personal skills and the ability to convey financial information clearly to non-finance professionals.
  • Highly organized with the ability to produce accurate work to tight deadlines.
  • A proactive approach and good problem-solving abilities.
