We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Compliance Officer to join our team at Starling Bank. As a key member of our Conduct and Compliance Advice team, you will provide second-line of defence (2LoD) regulatory compliance advice and guidance to our business teams.
Key Responsibilities- Regulatory Compliance Advice: Provide timely and accurate regulatory compliance and conduct-related advice, guidance, and support to our business teams, ensuring that they meet their regulatory obligations and effectively manage their regulatory compliance and conduct-related risks.
- Compliance Frameworks and Policies: Support the development and implementation of conduct risk and compliance frameworks and policies in line with our Enterprise-Wide Risk Management framework.
- Reporting and Oversight: Support the Compliance Team's monthly reporting pack(s) and oversee the submission of Senior Management Function (SMF) applications to the regulators.
- Financial Promotions and Marketing: Approve and sign off financial promotions and marketing across all products and services offered by Starling Bank.
- Deep Knowledge of Regulations: Have a deep working knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices related to compliance and financial services.
- Consumer Credit Lending Experience: Have extensive consumer credit lending experience, including strong knowledge of the Consumer Credit Act (CONC).
- Excellent Communication Skills: Possess excellent communication (written and verbal), relationship-building, and influencing skills, with the ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences, including senior management and committees.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Have proven analytical skills and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand and interpret business knowledge.
- Conduct and Compliance Risks: Have a detailed knowledge and experience of identifying key conduct and compliance risks.
- Judgement and Decision-Making: Possess sound judgement and decision-making skills, with the ability to see things through to resolution at all times.
- Emerging and Existing Compliance Issues: Be proactive in identifying and addressing emerging and existing compliance and conduct issues and risks.
- Collaboration and Knowledge-Sharing: Be willing to share knowledge with the team and collaborate across all product lines with all members of the team.
