We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced DBT Therapist to join our team at Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust. As a DBT Therapist in Training, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and expertise in delivering Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) to individuals with emotional dysregulation and personality disorders.
Key Responsibilities- Complete postgraduate training in DBT and offer a clinical service to patients under supervision.
- Specialize in offering therapy to service users experiencing emotional dysregulation, including those with a diagnosis of emotionally unstable personality disorder.
- Deliver full-package DBT as part of a team, including group work and coaching.
- Help deliver DBT-informed interventions such as emotional coping skills groups.
- Attend DBT consult regularly, which will be a further source of learning and support.
- Help deliver a Family Connections group for relatives and carers of those experiencing difficulties linked to emotion dysregulation.
- Offer consultation, supervision, and training to other team members.
- A recorded/registered qualification in one of the following at graduate level in nursing, social work, occupational therapy, art therapy, or within a psychological therapy.
- Demonstrable experience of working in mental health services, including experience of working with people who experience emotional instability and have a diagnosis of emotionally unstable personality disorder.
- Experience of effectively managing own caseload and time.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer literate.
- Skills in risk assessment within scope of practice.
- Ability to remain calm in crisis situations and make sound risk management decisions.
