The Project

We are growing our transportation division and have a number of upcoming opportunities for project engineers in various disciplines, including civils/structural engineering, telecoms, signaling, electrification and plant (E&P), track, buildings and civils, and buildings and services (M&E). If you have a specialization in one of these areas in the rail industry, we'd love to hear from you.

Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinate work with other contractors and Network Rail.
  • Liaise with route engineers to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Participate in engineering and development assurance activities to ensure schemes are affordable, meet program requirements, and are safe and environmentally responsible.
  • Participate in the engineering assurance process, considering safety, reliability, maintainability, ease of construction, and environmental/whole life issues.
  • Review compliance with appropriate standards, such as NR/L2/CIV/003 and NR/L3/CIV/0063.
  • Use risk ID and evaluation methods, such as HAZOP and QRA, to evaluate and compare options.
  • Assure the development of the selected single option and prepare the full engineering assurance package required for commencement of detailed design.
  • Carry out engineering verifications and manage engineering interfaces with concurrent work in other disciplines.
  • Act as or liaise with the appropriate project engineer to produce and approve method statements for site works and surveys.
  • Assure whether contractors' design, construction, and specialist personnel are competent.

Requirements

  • Able to undertake the NR/L2/RSE/02009 role of Project Engineer (PE).
  • A sound understanding of the Construction, Design and Management (CDM) 2015 regulations and common safety method (CSM) 2013 regulations, specifically the requirements associated with asset protection on third-party, major, and minor projects.
  • A sound understanding of Network Rail's requirements regarding the risk assessment process, including CSM-RA.
