Job Title: Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Sureserve Group. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for controlling financial aspects of social housing contracts, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maximizing margin.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Liaise with project stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery
  • Assist contracts manager and site manager in legal and financial aspects to reduce risk
  • Audit contract documents and highlight discrepancies
  • Produce accurate cash flow forecasts and update as work proceeds
  • Develop detailed cost plans and buying schedules for each project
  • Prepare preliminary expenditure schedules for discussion and agreement
  • Identify suitable work packages and sub-contractors
  • Ensure subcontract orders are placed in line with project financial targets
  • Conduct comprehensive analysis of quotations, considering omissions and qualifications
  • Issue valuations in accordance with contract documents
  • Produce and maintain draft final accounts, submitting with valuations to ensure client awareness
  • Assess sub-contractor accounts and produce payment certificates
  • Issue Withholding Notices in good time against applications and invoices
Requirements:
  • 2 years experience in QS running financial aspects of social housing construction projects
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, specifically Excel
  • Strong time management, prioritization, and problem-solving skills
  • Self-driven, results-oriented, and positive attitude
  • Clear focus on customer satisfaction
  • Good planner and able to assess own performance
  • Reliable, tolerant, empathetic, and team player
  • Sufficiently mobile and flexible attitude to work
  • Construction-related degree and QS qualification

  • Competitive salary: £45,000 to £55,000 per annum (depending on experience)
