Your technical expertise will play a crucial role in demonstrating how our Databricks Data Intelligence Platform can assist clients in overcoming their intricate data challenges. You will collaborate with a dedicated, customer-oriented team that values innovation and creativity, utilizing your skills to craft tailored solutions that help our clients reach their objectives and advance their businesses.

You will report to the Manager of Field Engineering.

Your Impact:

  • Establish strong relationships with clients within your designated territory, delivering technical and business value in partnership with an Account Executive and a Senior Solutions Architect.
  • Engage clients with Databricks through hands-on evaluations and Spark programming, integrating with the broader cloud ecosystem and third-party applications.
  • Contribute to the development of the Databricks technical community by participating in workshops, seminars, and meet-ups.
  • Serve as a Big Data Analytics advisor on architectural and design aspects.
  • Support clients by creating reference architectures, how-to guides, and demonstration applications.
  • Advance both technically and in pre-sales capabilities, aiming to evolve into an independently functioning Solutions Architect.

What We Seek:

  • Experience in a technical customer-facing role, with a background in Data Engineering (Spark, Databricks, etc.) and/or Data Warehousing (BI, DWH, SQL, PowerBI).
  • Familiarity with any of the following sectors: Communications, Media and Entertainment, Manufacturing, Energy and Industrials, Travel, Transport and Logistics, Financial Services and Insurance, Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), Retail, Consultancy, and Professional Services.
  • Experience in pre-sales or post-sales roles working with external clients.
  • Proficiency in client engagement, crafting narratives, addressing customer inquiries, aligning agendas with key interests, and achieving measurable outcomes.
  • Ability to independently present a technical proposition, identify customer pain points, and articulate significant business value to develop a trusted advisor skillset.
  • Proficient in a core programming language such as Python, Java, or Scala.
  • Knowledgeable in a core Big Data Analytics domain, with exposure to advanced proofs-of-concept and an understanding of a major public cloud platform (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Experience in solution architecture and design.
  • This role requires travel to customer sites.
  • Preferred: Databricks Certification.
