Yard Site Manager Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Yard Site Manager to join our client in Edmonton. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for driving operational and logistical efficiency, ensuring quality of items, and meeting all health & safety and compliance requirements in the yard.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all workers are working and breaks are as per their contracts, with no more than 1 hour per day.
  • Minimize overtime and record all overtime for workers on a weekly spreadsheet.
  • Be responsible for all payments and POs to suppliers and gate suppliers.
  • Control all cash on site, ensuring every penny is accounted for, and notify the country manager when cash is needed.
  • Complete cash tickets correctly and scan them into Teams at the end of every day.
  • Reconcile the cash register at the end of every day using the cash tracker spreadsheet.
  • Conduct stock conversions on the app at the end of every day to ensure accuracy of stock by category and grade.
  • Complete a weekly stocktake and submit it via the app every Friday.
  • Ensure all suppliers are unloaded quickly and do not leave site without a cash ticket being raised, if it has not been paid, it needs to be kept separate to avoid discrepancies.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy yard.
  • Work with the transport manager to arrange collections and deliveries, ensuring all jobs are allocated to drivers with the correct paperwork and ideally pre-loaded the night before to minimize drive downtime.
  • Be responsible for delivery, collection, and waste paperwork, ensuring it is filled out properly by drivers and signed for by customers, then scanned and uploaded to Teams every night.
  • Maintain supplier price lists and ensure any new agreements are approved via the country manager.
  • Have a visible presence in the yard for 50% of the working day, supporting sorting, put away, loading/unloading, and housekeeping.
KPIs:
  • Ensure all Zero Harm KPIs are delivered.
  • Achieve 99% On Time in Full for customer orders.
Person Specification:
  • Highly motivated self-starter.
  • Maintain and develop existing suppliers and always be on the lookout for new opportunities.
  • Ensure the yard is always flowing, with unsorted/repair items kept to a minimum.
  • Complete all paperwork at the end of every day.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and impact others.
  • Customer-focused.
  • Passionate about colleague safety and compliance.
  • Champion of our values internally and externally.
  • Comply with our health and safety policy and those of our customers.
  • Proud to work in a clean yard/office environment.
