Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to portering requests in a timely and professional manner, prioritizing tasks to meet the needs of patients, staff, and visitors.
- Interact with patients, consultants, staff, and visitors with the utmost professionalism, providing exceptional customer service and support.
- Undertake patient transfers and movements via wheelchair, trolley, and bed, ensuring the safety and comfort of patients at all times.
- Perform regular cleaning and maintenance of department equipment, including wheelchairs and trolleys, to ensure optimal functionality and hygiene standards.
- Deliver and collect internal post and small deliveries to and from the hospital, adhering to business requirements and deadlines.
- Promote and support the seamless flow of information between the portering team and the wider hospital, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Investigate patient complaints related to portering services, providing prompt and professional resolution.
- Perform 'ad hoc' duties as requested by the Lead Porter or other senior staff, including moving medical/hospital equipment, furniture, and boxes with general office content.
Requirements:
- Porter experience in a hospital or hotel setting, with a strong understanding of operational procedures and protocols.
- Assertive and able to deal with conflict, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent timekeeping and ability to work independently, with a strong sense of initiative and responsibility.
- Experience of delivering customer services to an exceptionally high standard, with a genuine care and empathy for patients.
