Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Portering Services Officer to join our team at Bupa. As a Portering Services Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting the hospital's operational functions and delivering exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to portering requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Interact with patients, consultants, staff, and visitors with the utmost professionalism and empathy.
  • Undertake patient transfers and movements via wheelchair, trolley, and bed when required.
  • Perform regular cleaning and maintenance of department equipment, including wheelchairs and trolleys.
  • Deliver and collect internal post and small deliveries to and from the hospital.
  • Promote and support the seamless flow of information within the portering team and the wider hospital.
  • Investigate patient complaints relating to portering services.
  • Perform 'ad hoc' duties as requested by the Lead Porter or other senior staff members.

Requirements:

  • Porter experience in a hospital or hotel setting.
  • Assertive and able to deal with conflict.
  • Good communication and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent telephone manner.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Able to work on own initiative, prioritise work, and meet deadlines.
  • Good timekeeping.
  • Experience of delivering customer services to an exceptionally high standard.
  • Able to empathise with patients and demonstrate genuine care.
