Position Overview

Our client operates within the automotive sector, demonstrating a strong commitment to quality and innovation, and is looking to enhance their machine shop capabilities.

Role Overview

  • Responsible for programming, setting up, and operating a Haas CNC 4-axis turning center.
  • Adjusting existing programs as supplied by the production engineering team.
  • Developing and validating new programs with appropriate guidance.

Key Duties

  • Set up and operate the Haas CNC 4-axis turning center with driven tooling, producing short runs of both simple and intricate components to precise specifications.
  • Conduct inspections at the machine, approve initial outputs, and ensure ongoing compliance throughout the production run. Address any issues as they arise.
  • Create and validate programs utilizing Haas NextGen control, while identifying tooling requirements and maintenance or calibration needs.
  • Operate additional production machinery as required, with training and guidance provided as necessary.
  • Utilize manual machinery for secondary operations or fixture work.
  • Maintain a tidy and safe workspace, ensuring adherence to Health and Safety regulations and best practices.
  • Perform general workshop tasks as assigned, including unloading, storing, and cutting materials, as well as deburring and hand finishing when necessary.
  • Collaborate with the organization to establish and agree upon manufacturing priorities and production timelines.
  • Complete all essential production control documentation, including timesheets and inspection records.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Proven experience in CNC programming, setting, and operation.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization abilities.
  • Proactive approach with the capability to take initiative and ownership of challenges.
