Electronics Production Specialist

As a key member of the Renishaw team, you will be responsible for supporting and sustaining complex electronic test processes in a high-variety, high-complexity assembly environment. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the smooth operation of test processes, investigating product failures and process problems, and implementing corrective actions to improve process performance.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical support for test processes within manufacturing cells, ensuring timely resolution of issues and minimizing downtime.
- Investigate product failures and process problems, conducting root-cause analysis and implementing recommended corrective actions within challenging deadlines.
- Analyze process performance data to identify areas for improvement and justify actions to optimize process efficiency.
- Perform regular maintenance of test fixtures and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.
- Update test processes driven by product design changes, including software and hardware modifications.
- Support continuous improvement activities within supported cells, focusing on waste reduction, cost reduction, and process control enhancement.
- Develop and implement plans for new process equipment, providing technical specifications and justification.
- Collaborate with product design divisions and support services within the manufacturing services division to ensure seamless process integration.
- Hold a minimum of a HNC / Level 4 qualification in electronics and/or electrical engineering.
- Demonstrate strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively interact with cross-functional teams.
- Have familiarity with manual bench testing methods, including oscilloscopes, signal generators, and power supplies.
- possess knowledge and experience of electronics test processes, such as Flying Probe, ICT, and functional testing.
- Apply structured problem-solving and statistical analysis techniques, such as Six Sigma.
- Be familiar with lean manufacturing tools and techniques, as well as production metrics (productivity, efficiency, waste).
- Have practical experience with cellular assembly process design, support, and improvement, including effective control and mistake-proofing techniques.
- Understand metrology, measurement techniques, and calibration.
- Have experience with Aeroflex 42xx or Keysight 37xx ICT Test Systems.
- Hold a National Instruments LabVIEW/TestStand qualification, supported by practical implementation experience.
The successful candidate will be a dynamic, results-driven individual with a strong technical background and a proven track record of success in supporting and developing complex assembly processes. They will possess excellent time-management, prioritization, and decision-making skills, with a focus on waste reduction and product/process cost reduction.
