Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Residential Building Surveyor to join our dynamic and innovative consultancy, Fourth Wall Building Consultancy. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for inspecting and reporting on properties of all shapes, sizes, and ages, providing expert advice to our clients.

The Role:

  • Inspect and report on residential properties, identifying defects and providing recommendations for repair or improvement.
  • Conduct site visits and surveys to gather data and information on property condition.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for clients, highlighting key findings and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and clients to provide expert advice and guidance on property-related matters.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices, applying this knowledge to improve our services and deliver exceptional results.

Requirements:

  • AssocRICS or MRICS qualification, with a minimum of 1-2 years of building surveying experience.
  • Proven experience in writing RICS Level 2 & Level 3 home surveys, snagging surveys, and specific defect reports.
  • A full clean driving license, with regular travel to site inspections each week.
  • Detailed knowledge of building construction and pathology, with a good understanding of performance and risk awareness within a regulatory environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • An understanding of GoReport or other report writing software, with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with AutoCAD is beneficial but not essential.
