Job Overview
As a pivotal member of the GE Vernova team, you will be tasked with ensuring the reliability and operational continuity of our Energy Management System software. This role involves collaborating with Independent System Operators and Transmission System Operators to deliver exceptional maintenance and support services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide advanced L2/L3 technical support, acting as the primary contact for resolving complex issues.
  • Monitor and manage customer cases through our dedicated tracking system.
  • Respond to emergency calls outside of regular hours, ensuring prompt assistance.
  • Engage with customers to gather critical information, diagnose issues, and implement effective solutions.
  • Assist in the installation and testing of software patches on client systems.
  • Support configuration management, system optimization, database maintenance, and proactive system monitoring.
  • Facilitate communication between customers and third-party vendors.
  • Deliver performance reports and maintain clear communication with stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Extensive knowledge in the power systems sector, with a focus on network modeling, analysis, and SCADA applications.
  • Proficient programming skills in C or C++, with a solid understanding of Information Technology.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting and debugging capabilities.
  • Ability to interpret system and application logs effectively.
  • Strong communication skills for customer interactions.
Educational Background
A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science or related STEM fields, complemented by relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Energy Management Systems (EMS), Dispatcher Training Simulators (DTS), and related modeling applications.
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Fortran, Java, and scripting languages like Perl, PowerShell, and SQL.
  • Experience in database management with Oracle and SQL Server.
  • Knowledge of power flow, fault location, and service restoration processes.
  • Proven ability to build relationships with customers and manage workload effectively.
  • Demonstrated positive attitude and strong teamwork skills.
