About the Company

Eden Scott is a leading offshore wind developer seeking a highly skilled Senior Power Systems Engineer to join their team.

Main Accountabilities
  • Lead the electrical power systems design for offshore windfarm to grid connection, ensuring compliance with the UK grid code.
  • Develop and manage specification writing and consultancy work scopes for power system study requirements.
  • Specify design of reactive compensation and check electrical load calculations for plant and harmonic filters.
  • Collaborate with electrical cable, plant, and wind farm engineers, as well as electrical protection and control system engineers, during design stages.
  • Work within a multidisciplinary engineering design team and effectively communicate complex power system models and results to progress the design.
  • Support the Electrical Engineering Manager with monthly design reviews, power systems-related decision making, engineering risk management, budgeting, and program management.
  • Participate in project technical engineering meetings with other engineering stakeholders both internally and externally.
  • Support the Grid Manager in preparing annual DRC submissions to the System Operator.
  • Assist the regulation manager in interpreting and developing relevant system code changes and developments.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
Required Skills
  • Experienced power systems engineer modeling both wind turbine generator and transmission systems.
  • Skilled power system analyst modeling with software tools for static and dynamic studies for generation systems connecting to the UK grid.
  • Understanding and application of the UK grid code and modeling standards for connection of offshore generators to the UK grid.
  • Experience working with OEMs in relation to modeling requirements for grid code compliance.
  • Knowledge of relevant standards applicable to primary electrical plant for modeling purposes.
  • Proficiency in using modeling tools such as DIgSILENT Power Factory, PSSE, PSCAD, etc.
  • Experience applying CDM to projects as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Detail-oriented and systematic approach to design.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Exceptional written communication and presentation skills.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
Compensation Package

Salary: Up to £75,000 dependent on experience + Bonus of up to 20%.
