Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Engineer to join our dynamic team within Kier Professional Services (KPS). This role is ideal for individuals with a strong background in Temporary Works Design, looking to contribute to a variety of construction and infrastructure projects.

KPS operates as the engineering consultancy arm of Kier Group, delivering innovative design solutions, expert technical guidance, and comprehensive engineering support across various business units.

With over 2,000 designs executed annually for more than 400 projects, we stand as one of the UK's leading Temporary Works design firms. Our team of over 100 skilled engineers possesses extensive expertise in the design and verification of Temporary Works for projects spanning all sectors and sizes.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Engineer at KPS, you will collaborate closely with project teams to provide a wide range of civil and structural services, addressing both Temporary and Permanent Works. Your role will also involve delivering complex services by proposing safe and constructible solutions.

Your daily tasks will include:

  • Designing and verifying Temporary Works, both above and below ground, integrating with Permanent Works design where necessary.
  • Providing alternative solutions and value engineering to enhance Kier's reputation.
  • Supporting tender stages and bids with a focus on buildability, efficiency, and innovation.
  • Conducting technical assessments and reviews of third-party designs to ensure compliance with client and Kier specifications.
  • Mentoring and managing junior staff within KPS.

Candidate Profile

This position is well-suited for you if:

  • You are a Chartered Engineer or are on the path to becoming Chartered.
  • You possess a keen interest in Temporary Works Design or have prior experience in this area.
  • You hold a valid UK driving license.
