Job Overview

Kier Group is seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer to join our team in Cambridge.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a broad range of civil and structural related services, including Permanent and Temporary Works design and checking, above and below ground in all materials.

The role will involve working closely with project teams to support the delivery of complex services, providing solutions that are safe and buildable.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Permanent and Temporary Works Design, with experience in delivering alternative solutions and value engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and checking of Permanent and Temporary Works, above and below ground in all materials.
  • Delivery of alternative solutions and value engineering to enhance Kier's reputation.
  • Tender stage and bid winning support, focusing on buildability, efficiency, and innovation.
  • Technical assessment and review of 3rd party designs, ensuring compliance with the brief to meet client and Kier requirements.
  • Management and mentorship of junior team members.

Requirements:

  • Chartered engineer or equivalent qualification.
  • Strong background in Permanent and Temporary Works Design.
  • Full UK driving licence.
