Job Summary

The Aviation Trials Management Officer will play a critical role in the development and execution of test and evaluation activities for the Typhoon aircraft. This position requires a strong technical background in aerospace engineering, systems engineering, or a related field, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the design, planning, execution, and reporting of Typhoon flight and ground trials.
  • Provide technical leadership and interface between subject matter experts to facilitate the safe, effective, and efficient delivery of Typhoon trials.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for increased collaboration and efficiency in test and evaluation for the benefit of the Typhoon program and the MOD customer.
  • Provide high-level stakeholder engagement, including with MOD and industry partners in the Typhoon program, to deliver successful test outcomes.
  • Represent QinetiQ as part of the team embedded within the Typhoon Squadron.

Requirements

  • A genuine interest in aviation, reflected in previous experience throughout your career.
  • Demonstrable technical leadership experience and an understanding of aircraft weapon and avionics systems.
  • An understanding of the conduct of test and evaluation.
  • The ability to analyze complex systems and derive key aspects requiring attention.

Qualifications

  • A relevant degree (such as aerospace or systems engineering) or equivalent experience is essential.
  • We are seeking an innovative self-starter who is driven to deliver great results.
  • Experience in the conduct of technical evaluations is highly desirable, together with a willingness to challenge, refine, and improve existing ways of delivering T&E.
