Role Overview

The Lead Early Years Coordinator is responsible for the implementation of our Early Years program, ensuring a stimulating and supportive atmosphere for children aged four and five. You will actively participate in delivering structured sports, arts, and craft activities, aligning with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.

In collaboration with the Camp Manager, you will be the primary contact for the children in your care, focusing on their well-being and providing exceptional childcare. You will also ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and serve as the main liaison for parents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the execution of an engaging program for young children, ensuring adherence to EYFS standards.
  • Design and facilitate high-quality sports, arts, and games tailored to the developmental needs of the children.
  • Lead and mentor a small team of Early Years staff, fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, acting as the registered person during inspections.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for parents, providing updates and addressing any concerns.
  • Manage administrative tasks related to the children's attendance and registration.
  • Work closely with the Camp Manager to promote the welfare and development of all children.
  • Engage with children during non-activity times to ensure a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Maintain high standards of childcare that cater to the diverse needs of children.
  • Exemplify the Ultimate Activity ethos of 'Inspiring Children Every Day' through your actions and interactions.
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm, energy, and professionalism, serving as a positive role model.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including health and safety protocols.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support camp operations.

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years/Childcare or Primary Education, with substantial experience with preschool-aged children.
  • Proven experience in delivering engaging activities tailored to children's varying abilities.
  • Passionate about child development through play and creative activities.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with confidence in leading groups.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and its application in a camp setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, particularly in customer service and parent interactions.
  • Proactive team player, adaptable to the dynamic environment of a holiday camp.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience in a supervisory or management role.
  • Experience in taking sole charge of a group of children.
  • Paediatric First Aid qualification (12-hour or 6-hour).
