As a Trainee Mental Health Practitioner, you will have the opportunity to work with children and young people in educational settings, providing evidence-based interventions to support their mental health and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver evidence-based interventions for children and young people in educational settings with mild to moderate mental health problems.
- Help children and young people in these settings who present with more severe problems to rapidly access more specialist services.
- Support and facilitate staff in educational settings to identify and where appropriate manage issues related to mental health and wellbeing.
- Work with and within educational environments to afford better access to specialist mental health services.
As a Trainee Mental Health Practitioner with NELFT NHS Foundation Trust, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and creative environment, providing evidence-based interventions to support the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people. You will be part of a team that is committed to delivering high-quality care and services to our patients.
We offer a comprehensive training program, which includes a postgraduate educational program specifically for the Education Mental Health Practitioner role, delivered by Kings College London. You will also have the opportunity to work with a variety of different age groups and families across the diverse population of Kent and Medway.
Requirements- Degree qualification.
- Experience of working with children.
- Knowledge of the educational system in England.
- Knowledge of children and young people gained through academic study in child development, child wellbeing or mental health.
