About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as an Education Mental Health Practitioner. As a Trainee Mental Health Practitioner, you will have the opportunity to work with children and young people in educational settings, providing evidence-based interventions to support their mental health and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver evidence-based interventions for children and young people in educational settings with mild to moderate mental health problems.
  • Help children and young people in these settings who present with more severe problems to rapidly access more specialist services.
  • Support and facilitate staff in educational settings to identify and where appropriate manage issues related to mental health and wellbeing.
  • Work with and within educational environments to afford better access to specialist mental health services.

As a Trainee Mental Health Practitioner with NELFT NHS Foundation Trust, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and creative environment, providing evidence-based interventions to support the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people. We offer a comprehensive training program, which includes a postgraduate educational program specifically for the Education Mental Health Practitioner role, delivered by Kings College London. You will also have the opportunity to work with a variety of different age groups and families across the diverse population of Kent and Medway.

Requirements
  • Degree qualification.
  • Experience of working with children.
  • Knowledge of the educational system in England.
  • Knowledge of children and young people gained through academic study in child development, child wellbeing or mental health.
