An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a Government Relations Specialist to become a vital part of our organization on a full-time, permanent basis.
The position offers a competitive remuneration package, starting at £36,648 per annum (subject to experience).
The successful candidate will possess strategic thinking abilities, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative spirit.
Primary Responsibilities of the Government Relations Specialist:
Your role will involve ensuring that our advocacy and communication efforts are firmly anchored in a comprehensive political strategy, both at the national level and within the communities we serve. Your capacity to cultivate networks and influence decision-makers at local, regional, and national tiers will be crucial in advancing the objectives of the Combined Authority.
Key tasks will include crafting clear and persuasive briefings, speeches, and various publications on significant issues. You will also engage in proactive monitoring of political developments and respond to consultations and requests for evidence.
Establishing and nurturing essential relationships with stakeholders and local organizations is vital. You will coordinate political correspondence, organize events, and ensure alignment of messaging with Combined Authority officials.
Qualifications we seek in our Government Relations Specialist:
- A minimum of three years' experience in government relations or stakeholder engagement.
- In-depth knowledge of Central Government, Local Government, and Devolution.
- A strong passion for politics and/or advocacy.
- Ability to balance political policies and priorities with organizational objectives.
- Experience navigating complex political landscapes.
