About the Role
University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Diagnostic Radiographer to join our team. As a key member of our Diagnostic Radiography department, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality imaging services to our patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform x-ray procedures in line with agreed competence and ensure that adequate radiation protection is given to self, patients, and other members of staff.
- Clinically assess patients to decide the most appropriate radiographic projections to achieve a diagnostic result, considering age, fragility, ability to co-operate due to physical/mental condition.
- Communicate clearly and openly with colleagues and patients on clinical and organisational issues.
- Advise patients, staff, and others on the preparation of a wide range of radiographic procedures to achieve compliance with written instructions.
- Adopt a patient-centred approach to clinical practice and ensure that all imaging services are delivered in line with UHB Trust Values.

Person Specification
- Qualifications leading to BSc Diagnostic Radiography or DCR, and HCPC Registration.
- Evidence of up-to-date professional knowledge, technical knowledge, and awareness of current NHS issues.
- Demonstration of good interpersonal skills, ability to supply accurate and precise information, effective communication and organisation skills, and high level of enthusiasm.
