Senior Safety Case Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Safety Case Engineer to join our team of nuclear specialists. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in driving the success of all safety principles throughout the project lifecycle.

About the Role
  • Hands-on delivery of nuclear safety cases and assessments
  • Ensuring nuclear safety cases and underpinning assessment advice and documentation meet expectations
  • Collaborating with disciplines to identify and develop nuclear hazard management strategies
  • Leading hazard identification studies on design projects and operational facilities
  • Developing effective engagement relationships with stakeholders
  • Providing support to stakeholder engagements with Regulatory bodies
  • Undertaking verification of integrated nuclear safety cases and supporting documentation
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement nuclear safety cases and assessments
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate nuclear hazards
  • Lead hazard identification studies and develop strategies for nuclear hazard management
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on nuclear safety cases and assessments
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including regulatory bodies
  • Verify and validate integrated nuclear safety cases and supporting documentation
Requirements
  • Detailed knowledge of safety case process and methodologies
  • Knowledge and experience of leading, shaping and delivering proportionate Nuclear Safety Assessments and advice
  • Knowledge of integrated nuclear safety cases and underpinning evidence requirements
  • Ability to proportionately and effectively apply safety case processes, methodologies and tools
  • Ability to influence and lead the day-to-day delivery of nuclear safety professionals
  • Ability to build relationships and engage collaboratively with key stakeholders
  • Ability to solve complex, multi-dimensional problems
  • Excellent report writing, written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive in seeking out improvement opportunities
