Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Diabetic Eye Screening Specialist to join our team at Homerton University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Diabetic Eye Screening Programme, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to patients with diabetes in the North East London area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality retinal screening and photography services to patients with diabetes
- Work unsupervised in a community-based environment, with support from team leaders
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
- Contribute to the development and implementation of effective screening protocols and procedures
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date with best practices and technologies
Requirements:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Basic knowledge of diabetes and its complications
- Ability to learn and use eye screening software and retinal camera equipment
