About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Land Acquisition Director to lead our Eastern regional Land Team based in our St Albans office.
Key Responsibilities
- Acquire land for residential developments, ensuring site selection aligns with company policies and standards.
- Maintain budgetary control over Land Department operations, approving additional costs and exceptions to project budgets to maintain profit margins.
- Lead a team of Land Buyers, responsible for their career development, setting targets, and conducting training and one-to-one sessions.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Regional Managing Directors, Main Board members, Solicitors, Local Authorities, Estate Agents, and Surveyors.
- Travel extensively within the region, requiring a valid UK Driver's License.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a Senior Management role, with a proven track record in land purchase for residential developments.
- Advanced negotiation skills, with the ability to influence others through clear, professional communication and confidence in presenting in meetings.
- Desirable: Sector-associated qualification, such as RICS or MRTPI.
