Logistics Coordinator Job Description

The Logistics Coordinator is a key role within KBM RESOURCING LTD, responsible for managing and driving all aspects of logistics activities. This includes efficient and accurate control of imports and exports, ensuring customs compliance with specific country legislation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the equipment scheduler to ensure accurate asset allocations to projects.
  • Execute logistics plans to move equipment and spares packages to reach destinations on schedule.
  • Understand company equipment spread configurations for onward transportation and develop load plans for breakbulk, out-of-gauge, and oversized cargo shipments.
  • Negotiate favourable rates and framework agreements with crane providers, hauliers, vessel brokers, and freight forwarders.
  • Manage quayside logistics scopes at mob and demob ports, ensuring safe and secure handling of cargo and cost optimisation within budgets.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to allow for logistics planning and continuously update equipment schedules as project demands evolve.
  • Recommend optimal transport modes, routes, or frequency and plan space consolidation on flatbed trailers, heavy haulage, and abnormal loads.
  • Ensure timely customs clearance of cargo for all Export and Import shipments.
  • Develop a generic equipment shipping cost book for bid accuracy.
  • Provide logistics data to management to drive cost accuracy improvements.
Requirements:
  • Significant experience with freight/customs or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of shipping and charter party contract terms.
  • Knowledge of road, air, and sea freight shipping documentation, including Incoterms and HS Codes.
  • Project experience in moving heavy cargo and out-of-gauge sea freight shipments preferred.
  • Competent in all Microsoft packages, including Teams, Excel, and SharePoint.
  • Experience using Enterprise Resource Planning systems (ERP).
