Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Housing Officer to join our team at James Andrews Recruitment Solutions Ltd. As a Housing Officer, you will be responsible for managing a patch of 350 properties, dealing with low to medium level Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB), and ensuring that management of void properties is carried out in line with allocation policy and voids procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of 350 properties, ensuring that all tenancies are up-to-date and compliant with relevant legislation.
- Deal with low to medium level ASB, working closely with tenants, local authorities, and other stakeholders to resolve issues.
- Ensure that management of void properties is carried out in line with allocation policy and voids procedures, minimizing void rent loss and other costs.
- Manage the allocations process, including nominations, mutual exchanges, and transfers, ensuring that the voids and lettings systems are maintained on the Housing Management System.
- Provide tenancy management services, ensuring that all tenants adhere to agreements and that any issues are resolved promptly.
- Carry out new tenant visits, mutual exchanges, and termination of tenancies, ensuring that all necessary procedures are followed.
Requirements:
- Experience in Social Housing, with a strong understanding of relevant legislation and policies.
- Experience working with customers within housing, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience of medium to low level ASB, with a proven track record of resolving issues.
- Experience of dealing with all aspects of tenancy management, including allocations, voids, and lettings.
- Excellent customer service skills, with experience dealing with difficult tenants.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Risk assessment and management, with a strong understanding of health and safety protocols.
- Financial management and budgeting, with experience of managing budgets and resources.
- Compliance and due diligence, with a strong understanding of relevant legislation and policies.
