We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join our Marine team in the Newcastle office as a Principal Engineer. The successful candidate will have an unparalleled opportunity to work directly with, and support, the Office Partners in the delivery of a varied portfolio of civil engineering works in the marine environment.
Key Responsibilities- Technical Lead: Provide technical guidance and oversight in the design and assessment of marine structures.
- Design Review: Review designs and drawings completed by team members or other parties for compliance with design standards, best practice guidance, contractual obligations, and client expectations.
- Client Liaison: Liaise in a professional manner with colleagues, clients, contractors, and other designers to offer advice and guidance on matters relating to their work.
- Analysis and Design: Undertake analysis and design using a range of software packages.
- Site Inspections: Attend site meetings and carry out site inspections as required.
- Business Development: Support the Office Partners in business development through client liaison, networking, and preparation of bids and proposals to sustain and grow a strong client base.
- Qualifications: Bachelor degree or masters-level qualification in a Civil Engineering discipline.
- Experience: A minimum of 7-10 years post-graduation experience.
- Skills: Relevant experience of civil engineering problem-solving and development of sound engineering solutions, excellent report writing, communication, and numerical skills, a track record of developing and maintaining relationships with clients and project stakeholders, the ability to take initiative and manage your own workload and that of others to meet deadlines, a flexible and enthusiastic approach to working within a team structure, technical competence in the field of civil engineering, and a full clean driving license.
