About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Specialist to join our team at Elysium Healthcare. As an Associate Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality medical care to our patients with acquired or traumatic brain injury or other neurological conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide psychiatric and external assessments for clients referred to the unit, under the direction and supervision of the Consultant Psychiatrist.
  • Work with the multidisciplinary team to ensure delivery of the Care Programme.
  • Ensure the high-quality first-line medical care of our inpatients, liaising effectively with external professionals and carers.
  • Prepare written and oral evidence for Hospital Managers' and Tribunal hearings.
  • Contribute to the service development by participating in Clinical Governance activities, conducting audits, research, and teaching if required.
  • Participate in learning activities and supervision, delivering staff training, and sharing responsibility for taking bloods and ECGs as necessary.
  • Provide prospective cover to other specialty doctors when they are on leave, liaising with GP and practice nurse regarding physical healthcare of patients.
  • Undertake emergency treatment with patients with complex care, arranging appropriate clinical tests and investigations, and taking responsibility for chasing up results and acting on them in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • Full GMC registration.
  • Experience working in psychiatry within multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Linked in with an appraisal/RITA process within the last year.
  • Experience in Psychiatry.
  • Experience working as a doctor within a similar environment.
  • MRCPsych (desirable).
