Leonardo Helicopters is seeking an Instrumentation Test Engineer to enhance our team. In this role, you will primarily deliver electrical, electronic, and instrumentation expertise to our Structural Test Laboratory. This facility plays a vital role in evaluating new aircraft designs and modifications, ensuring compliance with Civil and Military certification standards, and validating the robustness and resilience of the aircraft structure.

This position is categorized under JFF Level 5/6 (Engineering).

  • Delivering electrical and electronic assistance to the structural test laboratory
  • Overseeing the electrical design of test rigs, including the creation of specialized cable installations
  • Developing and facilitating instrumentation tasks within the department
  • Providing strain gauge specification support across various departments
  • Maintaining and supporting electrical equipment specific to the Structural Test Department
  • Ensuring personal safety and compliance with Company Health & Safety Policy
  • Possessing a degree in electrical or electronic engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrating experience in test instrumentation and a solid understanding of strain gauges
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and design electrical circuits
  • Familiarity with computer-aided design tools and PLC design
  • Experience with programming languages such as Arduino, C++, and Python
  • Exhibiting a flexible attitude and strong collaborative skills
  • Holding a full driving license and possessing IT proficiency
