Onshore HAUV Pilot

The Onshore HAUV Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of Hovering Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (HAUVs) from the onshore facility. This role involves conducting pre-dive checks, piloting the vehicles during operations, and ensuring that all activities are carried out in accordance with company standards and best practices.
Main Responsibilities- Assist in the preparation and execution of pre-dive checks and configuration of the HAUV, both onsite and remotely.
- Pilot the HAUV during intervention and surveying operations, ensuring safe and efficient execution.
- Contribute to the organization and planning of equipment maintenance, ensuring timely and effective completion.
- Assist in the launching and recovery of subsea equipment, adhering to operating procedures and safety protocols.
- Ensure the production and filing of pilot logs, video records, and survey sensor deliverables, participating in data recording and observation.
- Manage battery levels for the HAUV, ensuring charge levels are maintained and safety functions are followed correctly.
- Maintain the housekeeping and safety of the equipment spread, ensuring a safe working environment.
- A qualification in electrical engineering, particularly in high voltage, is essential for this role, or substantial relevant experience.
- Candidates should possess experience and documented flight hours conducting intervention operations, pipeline surveys, and various inspection tasks.
- Previous experience working with ROV or AUVs, during subsea surveys or intervention workscopes, is crucial for this role.
- A strong understanding of subsea infrastructure, including pipelines, cables, platforms, and other subsea structures, is vital.
- Familiarity with subsea operational techniques for intervention and survey workscopes is necessary to assist the team in performing effectively.
- Proficiency in integrating surveying instruments and equipment, such as multibeam sonars, subsea positioning systems (USBL, LBL), side-scan sonars, ROV sensors, and subsea navigation software.
- A solid working knowledge of networking is advantageous.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and adaptability to changing circumstances.
