About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at Tozer Associates. As a key member of our building services team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the design and construction of projects, including electrical engineering analysis and design.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Project Support: Contribute to the successful completion of projects by providing technical services in accordance with project time and quality.
  2. Design and Technical Knowledge: Maintain, enhance, and apply both design and technical knowledge to ensure the production of high-quality drawings.
  3. Electrical Design: Design electrical systems, including lighting, HV & LV supply, small power distribution, earthing and lightning protection, fire and voice alarm systems, telecommunication services, low current and extra low voltage services, automatic controls, BMS, and other related electrical utility systems.
  4. Design Calculations and Drawings: Prepare electrical design calculations, drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
  5. Contract Documents: Prepare specifications, schedules, drawings, and any other contract documents developed through the RIBA work stages.
  6. Client Liaison: Liaise with clients, professional organizations, contractors, suppliers, subcontractors, and other design teams.
Requirements
  1. Qualifications: A BEng(Hons) Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
  2. Communication Skills: Excellent report writing skills, experience of making presentations, and attending meetings with clients essential.
  3. Experience: A track record in the design of electrical systems on a variety of mid to large-scale building projects, i.e., retail, mixed-use developments, hospitality, healthcare, offices, and industrial.
  4. Work Experience: 6-12 years of relevant work experience in design and delivery of projects within the consulting industry.
  5. IT Skills: Proficient in the use of IT systems with experience of using Amtech Pro Design, Dialux, and/or Dialux Evo, Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
