Key Responsibilities

- Collaborate closely with colleagues and the Infection Control Team to manage patient care effectively.

- Execute tasks delegated by senior staff members.

- Ensure the production of Pathology reports meets the required professional standards.

- Provide expert clinical advice to fellow clinicians.

- Engage in and facilitate clinical audits.

- Actively participate in infection control initiatives, including attending Infection Control Committee and Antibiotic Committee meetings.

- Involve in teaching, training, and research development stewardship.

- Maintain strong communication with all clinical departments within the healthcare facility and participate in necessary meetings, ward rounds, and audits to deliver a high-quality clinical microbiology service.

Qualifications

Essential Requirements

  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
  • Postgraduate qualification in Medical Microbiology
  • GMC registration

Experience

Essential Requirements

  • A minimum of one year of relevant experience in a clinical microbiology department

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience in an NHS Hospital in a similar role
