Position: HOLMES Manager

Role Summary

We are looking for a highly qualified and experienced HOLMES Manager to oversee a significant investigation involving multiple interconnected offenses and offenders. This position is a contract role with a flexible working schedule. The selected candidate will be tasked with establishing and enhancing the HOLMES account for the investigation, managing outputs, and providing training and mentorship to the incident room personnel.

Key Duties

  • Deliver expert HOLMES advice and assistance to the Senior Investigating Officer (SIO) and the broader Major Incident Room (MIR) team.
  • Regularly update and maintain HOLMES policy and procedural documentation, ensuring that access levels and necessary hardware are adequately addressed.
  • Lead and manage the HOLMES team, offering support in terms of welfare, training, and direct management.
  • Work in collaboration with IT support to troubleshoot system and user-related issues, implementing essential system updates as needed.
  • Ensure the effective functioning of the HOLMES database, including conducting necessary reviews.
  • Spot opportunities for innovative IT solutions to improve HOLMES functionalities.
  • Act as the organization's representative on HOLMES issues at both regional and national forums, sharing best practices and identifying areas for development.

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in managing extensive HOLMES investigations, particularly those involving sensitive information.
  • Comprehensive understanding of HOLMES features and best practices.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and adhere to deadlines.
  • Current Developed Vetting (DV) clearance is essential.

Contract Information

  • Contract Duration: 40 weeks
  • Working Schedule: 3 days per week
  • Compensation: £500 per day
