The Risk Analytics division is pivotal at MS Amlin in understanding, advising, and conveying the risk levels managed by the organization. It is a dynamic environment where team members leverage sophisticated modeling and analytical techniques, along with their knowledge of various hazards, exposure, and financial principles, to collaborate with underwriters and other stakeholders in making informed business decisions. The insights provided by the team are crucial for pricing strategies, fulfilling capital requirements, and defining risk tolerance.
Within Risk Analytics, the Reinsurance Catastrophe Risk team employs analytics to forecast and mitigate the effects of catastrophic losses, enhancing decision-making processes and management, ensuring that MS Amlin can meet its objectives for both profitability and client satisfaction. About The Role
Analytics and Modeling
- Deliver comprehensive and insightful modeling results to key stakeholders during the pricing phase
- Support portfolio aggregation and other value-added modeling initiatives, such as assisting Senior Analysts in underwriting decisions, identifying data trends and discrepancies, evaluating and forecasting risk exposure, coordinating event responses, and contributing to project initiatives as required
- Evaluate models developed by Genpact to enhance underwriters' decision-making, effectively managing risk while adhering to timelines. Provide oversight on Genpact's reports, offering guidance based on business needs
Inter-business Relationships
- Clarify and elucidate reinsurance modeling analytics for stakeholders
- Act as a primary liaison for underwriters and other stakeholders regarding account pricing and portfolio aggregation
- Foster and enhance sustainable relationships with all partners, approaching discussions with a constructive mindset and a focus on continuous improvement
- Assist in client and broker interactions as necessary, managing inquiries with professionalism and efficiency
Reporting and Governance
- Conduct internal and external reporting activities for submissions
- Assist Senior Analysts in formulating and implementing risk management strategies that align with business objectives
- Support governance activities by aiding Senior Analysts in gathering information for decision-making purposes
Compliance and Risk Management
- Perform duties in accordance with the Company's Business Ethics policy and all applicable regulations
- Ensure that underwritten portfolios and risks adhere to relevant risk, regulatory, and legal requirements, aligning with business objectives

What you'll need
For this position, we require certain essential experiences, including:
- Strong financial and commercial insight
- Essential experience in risk analytics modeling using RMS RiskLink, RMS Risk Manager, AIR Touchstone, or Touchstone Re
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Knowledgeable in data management and structures
- Familiarity with coding logic and experience in SQL, with skills in R and/or Python being advantageous
- Experience with data manipulation and visualization tools, such as PowerBI
- Aptitude to design, operate, interpret, and communicate quantitative reports
- Knowledge of DFA tools and Underwriting administration systems
- Experience in the (re)insurance industry
- Technical understanding of (re)insurance, outward reinsurance, the underwriting process, and underwriting performance
