**Job Summary**

Thomas Thor is seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil and Structural Engineer to join our team in the development of next-generation nuclear power technology. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for assisting with the development of the Structural chapter of the Safety Case for submission to the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) for use in the Generic Design Assessment (GDA).

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Assist in the analysis of metallic, reinforced concrete, and soil-subgrade supported structures to support engineering and licensing requirements.
  • Develop and execute analyses for building and support structures, including static and dynamic finite element analyses (FEA) using ANSYS.
  • Support the development of engineering and licensing requirements and documentation for nuclear structures, systems, and components.
  • Review available concept designs and develop them into mature designs through critical thinking, literature research, and collaboration with team members from other disciplines and vendors.

**Requirements**

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical/Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • Industrial experience in stress analysis codes such as ANSYS, LS-DYNA, and.
  • Prior nuclear industry experience.
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
