Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Designer to join our team at 1st Select Ltd. As a key member of our multidisciplinary practice, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of our construction projects.

About the Role:

  • Plan, manage, monitor, and coordinate health and safety in the pre-construction phase, taking account of relevant information that might affect design work carried out before and after the construction phase has started.
  • Deliver services to clients within agreed timescales and budgets, and manage key client relationships.
  • Have knowledge of Construction Design and Management (CDM) regulations and ensure compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement health and safety strategies to mitigate risks and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, engineers, and contractors, to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of health and safety files, including existing information and new data generated during the project.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, identify potential hazards, and provide guidance to project teams.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Principal Designer or similar role in a construction or design consultancy.
  • Strong knowledge of CDM regulations and industry best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and project teams.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to meet changing project demands.
