Job Title: Secondary Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team at Academics, working in a secondary school in Watford. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and learning difficulties, providing tailored assistance in both one-to-one and small group settings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with students who have SEN, including learning difficulties, to support their academic and personal development.
  • Provide focused 1:1 support, as well as small group interventions, across KS3 and KS4.
  • Assist class teachers in delivering lessons and activities, ensuring students with additional needs are fully included and supported.
  • Adapt learning materials and strategies to meet the individual needs of students, encouraging independence and confidence.
Essential Requirements:
  • A minimum of 6 months of experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a UK secondary school.
  • Experience supporting students with SEN/learning difficulties.
  • An Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Confidence working across KS3 and KS4 in a classroom setting.
  • Strong communication skills, patience, and a positive attitude.
