About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Shift Technician to join our team in ensuring the smooth and continuous running of our production line. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating and maintaining manufacturing equipment, adhering to quality standards, and minimizing downtime.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate can manufacturing equipment to achieve plant KPI targets
  • Maintain equipment in a condition that meets quality standards and minimizes downtime
  • Perform quality checks and take corrective actions as necessary
  • Maximize production and minimize spoilage during the manufacturing process
  • Carry out safe repairs to equipment as required
  • Set up checks after maintenance work
  • Report potential problems to the Shift Manager or relevant Department Heads
  • Maintain housekeeping to an exemplary standard and in a safe condition throughout the plant
  • Adhere to safe working practices and comply with legal, environmental, and safety requirements
Requirements:
  • 5 GCSEs or equivalent, including Maths and English
  • Recognized Time Served Apprenticeship
  • ONC/HNC Qualification or equivalent
  • English written and verbal skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Apprenticeship in a manufacturing mechanical engineering discipline
  • Working knowledge of Health and Safety work practices
  • Experience of preventative and planned maintenance on production equipment
  • Ability to work precisely with strong attention to detail
  • Team player with strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and organize and prioritize work
