About the Role

Welcome to Awaze, a leading holiday vacation rentals group in Europe. We're seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join our UK-based team.

As a key member of our infrastructure team, you'll be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our IT infrastructure across the Awaze group. This is a varied role where no two days are the same, and you'll work across various systems, including servers, networks, cloud environments, and storage.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement scalable and secure IT infrastructure solutions.
  • Deploy and configure servers, storage, and other infrastructure components.
  • Analyze and optimize, monitor and maintain IT infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and availability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues promptly.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including patch management, backups, and disaster recovery drills.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies and procedures across all infrastructure components.
  • Work closely with development, security, and operations teams to support continuous integration, operations, and improvements.
  • Document infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Provide on-call support (1 in every 4 weeks).
Requirements
  • Experience/knowledge in AWS, Azure, or similar cloud technologies, including cloud compute, cloud networking, cloud DNS, cloud monitoring, and cloud automation.
  • Demonstrable experience of Microsoft Windows Server technologies and associated technologies such as Active Directory, DNS, IIS, DFS.
  • Exposure to Microsoft cloud technologies such as Office 365 and Azure/Entra.
  • Experience with internal and web monitoring platforms such as SolarWinds and New Relic.
  • Working knowledge of Enterprise Storage and Backup technologies.
  • Working knowledge of Patch Management using third-party tools such as ManageEngine.
  • Attention to detail, desire to learn, ability to work flexibly, take part in an on-call rota, customer-focused.
  • The ability to quickly diagnose and troubleshoot problems through to resolution by collaborating across technical teams.
  • An understanding or exposure to agile ways of working.
