We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to join our client's UK business unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all payroll activities, including processing payroll for approximately 300 employees across 4 companies.

The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of tax and payroll legislation, as well as experience in implementing new payroll systems. They will be proficient in Microsoft Excel and payroll software, and have excellent communication and organizational skills.

The role will involve maintaining accurate employee records, updating PAYE coding change notices, and processing and reporting PAYE related instructions to and from HMRC. The successful candidate will also be responsible for compiling payroll data, net pay, PAYE and NIC reconciliations, and balancing and submitting pension contributions.

The Payroll Manager will report to the UK HR Director and will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by their changing role within the organisation and the overall business objectives of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintaining accurate employee records within the business' payroll software
  • Updating of PAYE coding change notices
  • Processing & reporting of PAYE related instructions to & from HMRC
  • Compiling payroll data
  • Net Pay, PAYE and NIC Reconciliations
  • Payrolling Benefits in Kind, Company cars, PME etc
  • Balancing and submission of pension contributions
  • Assist in collecting data for annual pay reviews, benefit renewals and Gender Pay Gap reporting.
  • Calculation of commission and bonus payments.
  • Prepare monthly finance journals and movement reports.

The successful candidate will have at least 3 years end to end payroll experience and a comprehensive understanding of tax and payroll legislation. They will be proficient in Microsoft Excel and payroll software, and have excellent communication and organizational skills.

Requirements:
  • At least 3 years end to end payroll experience
  • Comprehensive understanding of tax and payroll legislation
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and payroll software
  • Computer literacy in using Microsoft Office suite and payroll software
  • Level 3 CIPP (desirable)
  • Accounting experience (desirable)
