Position Overview

We are pleased to announce a permanent opportunity for a Child Rehabilitation Specialist to join our dedicated team at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. This role is designed for a motivated and skilled professional who is passionate about supporting the rehabilitation of children and adolescents facing significant health challenges. The successful candidate will work collaboratively across various therapeutic disciplines to provide specialized care for young patients recovering from serious injuries or medical conditions, including Musculoskeletal, Neurological, and Orthopaedic issues.

As the role evolves, there may be opportunities to extend therapeutic services into community settings, facilitating safe transitions for patients from hospital to home. Candidates should possess experience in a healthcare environment, particularly with pediatric populations, and demonstrate a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for children with diverse health needs.

Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will exhibit a strong dedication to excellence in exercise programming and possess effective communication and practical skills to foster person-centered care. Essential attributes include:

  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and adaptability to the dynamic nature of clinical practice.
  • Experience in pediatric therapy or related fields, with a solid understanding of therapeutic interventions.
  • Conducting independent assessments and implementing tailored exercise plans, as well as supporting group therapy initiatives.
  • Collaborating with physiotherapists to execute individualized treatment strategies focused on patient recovery and rehabilitation goals.

Our physiotherapy team offers a comprehensive induction program, ongoing training, regular supervision, and opportunities for professional development.

Welsh language skills are advantageous for this position; however, applications from both English and Welsh speakers are encouraged.

Qualifications and Experience
