About the Role

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team and support students with diverse special needs.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with autism or social and emotional needs and be able to implement strategies to support their holistic development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement strategies to support students with diverse special needs, particularly those with autism or social and emotional needs.
  • Cooperate with teachers and fellow SEN Teaching Assistants to foster an inclusive atmosphere conducive to learning.
  • Utilize various methods to encourage positive behavior and active participation in learning activities.
  • Contribute to maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment by assisting with behavior management and fostering a sense of belonging among students.
  • Offer personalized one-on-one assistance to students with special needs.
Requirements
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly those with autism or social and emotional needs.
  • Knowledge of and experience with behavior management strategies.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate effectively with parents and other professionals.
  • A patient and nurturing approach to working with children.
  • Ability to adapt and be flexible in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development in SEN practices and strategies.
