About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Treasurer to join our team at Ups and Downs Southwest, a regional not-for-profit organization that supports families, professionals, and individuals involved in the care and education of children and young people with Downs Syndrome.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in finance and be able to provide oversight of the charity's finances, supporting decision-making for the Director and Board of Trustees.

Day-to-day finance operations, such as payroll and invoice processing, are conducted by our part-time Finance Administrator. The Treasurer will work closely with the Finance Administrator to prepare the annual accounts for the auditors, with supervision and support from the charity's Director.

The ideal candidate will have excellent financial management skills, be able to advise on budget setting, monitoring, and reporting, and be able to input into the charity's strategy to help achieve our goals.

As a volunteer Treasurer, you will have the opportunity to work with a dedicated team, contribute to the charity's financial management, and make a positive impact on the lives of individuals and families affected by Downs Syndrome.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide financial oversight and support to the Director and Board of Trustees
  • Work closely with the Finance Administrator to prepare annual accounts and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Advise on budget setting, monitoring, and reporting
  • Contribute to the charity's strategy and help achieve our goals
