Financial Controller

Barclay Meade is seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to lead the accounting and financial reporting for our UK business unit. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliant, timely, and accurate financial reporting while maintaining strong internal controls.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead a team providing general accounting, transactional accounting, and financial reporting services
- Ensure controls are designed and operating effectively to address risk and maintain compliance with accounting policies
- Handle local statutory reporting and financial statement delivery, working effectively with auditors
- Support intercompany billing processes, including loaned labour processing and reconciliation of intercompany activity
- Manage monthly close activities including journal entry and account reconciliation review, and financial analytics
- Ensure revenue recognition is appropriately recognised and documented
- Coordinate work during monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles to meet deadlines
- Proactively identify and implement process improvements
- Maintain and update process documentation including Sarbanes Oxley narrative documents
- Qualified with a recognised accounting body (ACMA, ACCA etc), with significant post-qualified experience
- Experience in the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to execute challenging tasks
- Exceptional organisational skills for monitoring key due dates and activities
- Experience in a complex ERP environment
- Experience with facilitating internal and external audits
- Flexible planner capable of reacting to changing requirements and priorities
- Ability to develop cooperative relationships with various groups and individuals
