Core Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of the Delegated Authority Operations framework, tailoring it to meet the specific needs of clients.
  • Engage with clients regarding their delegated underwriting portfolio management requirements, aligning with their Delegated Authority strategy and risk appetite.
  • Supervise the approval processes for clients' Managing General Agents (MGAs), Coverholders, Lloyd's Service Companies, Brokers, and Consortia, coordinating contributions from all relevant stakeholders and tracking progress, with necessary escalations.
  • Oversee the approval procedures for clients' Binders, Lineslips, and Consortia, ensuring adherence to established protocols, coordinating input from all parties, and monitoring actions with appropriate escalations.
  • Manage the ongoing administration of clients' Delegated Authority arrangements, addressing any changes post-inception.
  • Encourage proactive collaboration with other teams within Asta, particularly in areas such as DUA, Compliance, Risk, and Actuarial.
  • Administer the clients' Delegated Authority audit strategy, which includes due diligence, reviews, audits, and following up on any recommendations made.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Strong communication skills, both interpersonal and written, enabling the establishment of trust with senior members of managing agencies, coverholders, and brokers.
  • Effective organizational abilities and a proactive approach to prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Solid numeracy skills and a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with individuals at all levels and foster strong relationships both internally and externally.
  • Confidence in mentoring and coaching junior team members.
  • Relevant and current experience in a delegated underwriting capacity.
  • Proficient in MS Office (or similar) applications, particularly Word and Excel.
  • A thorough understanding of Lloyd's requirements for delegated underwriting arrangements is essential.
  • In-depth knowledge of the structure and content of binding authority, lineslip, consortium, and master policy arrangements.
  • Extensive familiarity with Lloyd's systems, including Atlas, DCOM, DAM, Crystal, and Risk Locator, as well as market Bordereau Management tools, is essential.
