Research Scientist in Single Photon Bioimaging

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Research Associate to contribute to the project "Optical Functional Imaging For Metabolic Cell Model Engineering and Profiling" within the Institute of Micro and Nano Systems at the University of Edinburgh.
About the Role:
This is a fixed-term Research Associate position available until 31 March 2026. The successful candidate will work on the development of optical systems for time-resolved fluorescence imaging and contribute to the design of hardware and software tools for data acquisition and image processing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop optical systems for time-resolved fluorescence imaging
- Contribute to the design of hardware and software tools for data acquisition and image processing
- Collaborate with colleagues to achieve project goals
- Develop and maintain software tools for data analysis and visualization
Requirements:
- Knowledge of microscopy image and data processing techniques
- Experience in optical system development and hardware interfacing
- Programming skills in languages such as Labview and Matlab
- Experience with FPGA programming in hardware description languages
