Position Overview

We invite you to become an integral part of our organization, where you will significantly contribute to the identification and management of technology-related risks, ensuring operational excellence and fostering innovation in risk governance.

As a Technology Risk & Controls Specialist within the Technology Governance Risk and Execution (GRE) team, your primary focus will be on recognizing and addressing compliance and operational risks in accordance with the firm's established standards. You will be supporting the Corporate & Investment Banking Technology sector, providing expert knowledge and technical support to process owners aligned with technology. Your role will involve ensuring that the controls in place are functioning effectively and comply with regulatory, legal, and industry benchmarks. By collaborating with various stakeholders, including Product Owners, Business Control Managers, and Regulatory bodies, you will help in presenting a comprehensive overview of the technology risk landscape and its implications for the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate the effective identification, assessment, communication, and management of technology risks, emphasizing root cause analysis and actionable resolution strategies.
  • Establish and nurture strong relationships, becoming a trusted advisor to line of business technologists, assessment teams, and data officers to promote cross-functional collaboration and achieve common objectives.
  • Oversee the reporting and governance of controls, policies, issue management, and performance metrics, providing senior management with insights into control effectiveness and informing governance initiatives.
  • Continuously monitor and assess control effectiveness, identify deficiencies, and propose enhancements to fortify risk posture and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Aggregate and analyze thematic risks and trends.
  • Implement and, when necessary, develop governance processes to mitigate risks arising from ineffective internal processes, insufficient risk identification, inadequate controls, and emerging threats.
Required Qualifications and Skills
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience or equivalent expertise in technology risk management, information security, or a related discipline, with a focus on risk identification, assessment, and mitigation.
  • Familiarity with risk management frameworks, industry standards, and regulatory requirements pertinent to the financial sector.
  • Experience engaging with all lines of defense (e.g., Compliance, Internal Audit) and delivering high-quality audit responses.
  • Ability to synthesize data from various sources to create a unified perspective on risk.
  • Proven experience in managing governance projects.
  • Skilled in influencing the prioritization of technology risk remediation efforts.
  • In-depth knowledge and expertise in data security, risk assessment and reporting, control evaluation, design, and governance, with a successful track record of implementing effective risk mitigation strategies.
  • Demonstrated capability to influence strategic decision-making at the executive level and translate technology insights into actionable business strategies for senior leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Possession of industry-recognized risk certifications such as CISM, CRISC, CISSP, or similar credentials is preferred.
